Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Then she became a morning reporter and anchor for WCBD TV. The stories she reported in Charleston about the police's leniency when it comes to DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. It led to state authorities issuing more strict rules in these instances. Ms. O'Dell was honored by The Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. Following her work in Charleston O'Dell worked as a anchor, co-anchor, and investigative reporter for the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV before joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor as well as a weekday correspondent. The present role of O'Dell as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-show arrivals to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Co-hosted the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
