Julie Chen Moonves, who was one the original hosts and moderators of The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award winner talk show), returned August 5 for the 22nd season. But her real passion was when she added writing to her duties and won an Emmy for it. Then she won a second Emmy for hosting an excellent entertainment talk show. Her experience in the news industry helped her make the transition into The Talk, which examines topical events and contemporary issues through the eyes by five women hosts.Chen Moonves hosted the co-hosted version on CBS News' weekday morning broadcast The Early Show from 2002 to 2010. Prior to that, she worked as a reporter with ABC NewsOne, the network's associated news service (1992-1995) and as a desk-assistant for the ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991), all while finishing her last year of school at The University of Southern California. As a desk assistant, she worked for ABC News' Nightline program alongside Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel has remained one of her journalists heroes. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker on Anatomy of a Riot (the Columbia du-Pont-winning Primetime Special that looked at how the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
